Room 10's magazine comments 2014

What have I most enjoyed about this year in room 10 : fitness because we did lots , of fun games e.g number netball . 

What learning area gave u most enjoyed : maths because we did fun starters,  e. g speed grid . 

What learning area have I improved in the most : writing because last year u wasn't ,so keen on writing but this year I was , keen when it came to writing . 

What extra learning opportunity have I enjoyed this year : winter sport because netball is ,one of my strengths and so I really enjoyed going ,to Hagley Park to compete against other school .

What do I want  to improve on or focus on next year : next year I would like to ,read more often .

What: we have been writting a set of instructions for a game that would be suitable for fitness or lunchtime activity .

So what 3 features that I have used in my writting are... Subtitles ,tittle  and diagram 

Now what : Mr H highlighted spelling that I got correct an the second time I didn't spell it correct Mr H also highlighted topic language green e.g circle 

Numeracy strategy (+-)

So what : 

What: learn a range o different +and - strategies to solve problems 

Now what I think I could still improve on my subtraction because I'm not the best at subtraction 

Athletics

What: we have just competed in the kauri athletics 

So what : I am proud of discus because 1 because it was the only event I could do 2 I was also proud of discus because I did pretty well even though I didn't come in the top 2-3  

I was surprised at the hight that some  of the people were capable of jumping in  my age group 

Now what : next time I would like to be able to participate in all the events as I was unable to

Technology trip to Lincoln

We went to Lincoln primary school to the technology rooms.

My favourite thing was hard materials because I learnt how to sand something down and use the big drill. 

  

Treat others the way you would like to be treated

What: we have been keeping track of how we are achieving on the values o respect and excellence.

So what: I think I have been going good because I have got 2 oranges  and the rest green

Now what : trying not to get any oranges 

Haunted house writing

The night mare

Doff doff my footsteps as I walk down the street at 11:55pm ,with dark gloomy sky's staring down at me and surrounded by dead trees .

"CREAK" screamed the door as I opened it , tick tock tick tock bing went the clock as it hit 00:00pm ,I saw a flickering light down the foyer, so I walked down the foyer and coming at me was a clown with an ,axe whispering la la la "AHHH"!! I screamed as I walked backwards , into a hole in the floor boards which lead me to the basement. I walked nervously through the basement with spiders the size of 2 dinner plates ,and their spider webs the size of 3dinner plates .I rubbed my arms as I walked down another set of stairs ,which lead me to a cold airy space where?. I walked on I thought to myself I ,wonder what's upstairs and why down so low if I can be upstairs in the house, I walked back upstairs and I looked around me and out of the corner, of my eye I saw a clown again I ran up the stairs into the toilet and I slammed the door shut and locked the door , smash the toilet window broke I unlocked the door and ran I ran into a small confined space .

"Michaela , Michaela" I hear mums voice calling as I wake up from my horrible dream of the haunted house .

Now what : I am focussing on linking my talking partner said that it's on the line and it looks good .

So what :

Perspective art

What:we have  created art to represent perspective of objects that are close and far away. 

So what: my art  represent the view of the kaikoura ranges and on the left side is a mountain and on the right side I have a rocky shore with big boulders and smaller pebbles ,when you look down the road there is the sunset

 now what:  next time I would try not to paint in the other colours, make the outlines more a less the same size

So what : I did well because even though drawing isn't my thing I still did it and I think i did well quite well

what : living springs Camp fire 2014

SO WHAT :i had fun at camp the activate i enjoyed most was initiatives as well as the farm and camp fire. If I had the chance to do it again I would love  to do it again.The camp fire I enjoyed the camp fire because it kept me warm and we also  got to roast marshmallows and make smores . I enjoyed the farm because we got to do a lot of different activates at the farm e.g .... feed animals, watch sheep sheering and watch milk watching.

Cultural art

This is my cultural art. 

W.A.L.T: choose an icon of our culture and present it.

So what :first we chose a icon about our culture then we drafted it , in our integrated studies book. After  that we chose colours and different ways. Then we painted it . One of my flags have the correct colours  and one is using black and white . 

Now what: 

I need to improve the thickness of the paint and have clear lines, so the paint won't go in the other colours .
